Originally occupied by a single dilapidated pre-1911 character house, this site presented significant planning and heritage challenges. Rather than simply restoring or replacing the existing dwelling, Diana & Dakota reimagined the site, securing Development Approval to sensitively divide the property into two architecturally designed homes.

The proposal was carefully crafted to respect the established character of the street while introducing a contemporary interpretation of Queensland residential architecture. By balancing planning constraints, neighbourhood context and market demand, the project achieved an outcome that was both supported through the approval process and embraced by the market.

Completed in 2023, the two residences each deliver generous, design-led living with three bedrooms, a dedicated study, two-and-a-half bathrooms and secure parking for two vehicles. Influenced by timeless mid-century principles and refined materiality, the homes demonstrate that thoughtful density can enhance both the streetscape and the way people live.
